Scary Stuff Happens

Blog post #437 of 365

I love my grandson. Last week he was put in the hospital with an infection. His lungs weren't working well so they put him on oxygen. It scared me. I won't lie.

The next day his sister was coughing all night and awoke with labored breathing. She was admitted too. Both low on oxygen, coughing their little lungs out. Which as it happens is a good thing. It clears out the gunk so they can heal.

So I went to visit. Oh my goodness these two are amazing. Even sick they are little love bugs!
My daughter came to play with them.
 She hates the oxygen.
She loves the red toe (oxygen intake sensor.) Hard to see but there.
As my daughter left she got my granddaughter to smile. Priceless!
It didn't last long though because they started her IV and she was not a happy girl every time they tried something new. Totally not herself.
The hospital has this room of donated toys for the patients. They picked a Spiderman magnetic dart board and a kitchen set. So them! They play with them while they are there and get to take them home afterward, brilliant way to make being in the hospital not so bad.

My grandson got a little better and got really bored. After a few days of being in the hospital I offered to watch the kids while the parents went to get something to eat. The kids were asleep most of the time they were gone but before they came back my grandson woke up and asked where his parents were? I told him they went to get something to eat because the cafeteria was closed (it was) so he looks at me and says, "Did they eat in the car?" Later he said, "I need to go home I've been here forever." Bless his heart it had been four days by then.

It took a while but they did eventually make it home. Answered prayers for sure. Yup I believe in the power of prayer and the blessing of good doctors, respiratory therapists, and nurses.

One More Ad

Blog post #436 of 365
It starts out like this.

And ends with what gave him the idea.

I actually remember the one time I broke a window with a ball. It didn't end in a ball park.
I just find it very creative but half expected a credit card commercial instead of a Toyota truck commercial.

Really Focused on Ads

Blog post #435 of 365

This particular ad has been around a while. These images are beautiful to me. I would so do this.

By 'do this' I mean use my utensils in an unconventional way. I already use crates as storage!

Always on the Lookout

Blog post #434 of 365

I have food allergies. I hate going to a pot luck or buffet because there usually are not any ingredient lists. The other day I had Panda Express. I know what has nuts and never order those items. Guess what I found in my food last time?

You guessed it, a peanut. Still a little swollen. Holy crap! I guess you can never be too careful.

Clever Ad

Blog post #433 of 365

When I first saw this I had three thoughts. First my friend Kimberly who is a flight attendant. Second that squirrel is creepy.

And finally they don't usually serve nuts on planes anymore due to allergies.
Every time I've seen it since I think the very same thing except now I wonder why he had a pillow attached to his neck.

Still Messing Up

Every day. Here are samples of what I deal with.

Every channel. Every day. I think Charter should have fixed this problem by now.

I love This Tent

Blog post #431 of 365

I think it is kind of funny that they make fun of Salsa made in New York, although I've never been there I'm pretty sure all rival salsas are not made in New York. Honestly, every time I went to Texas, Pace is made there, I had no luck finding real Mexican food. And I find Pace to be kinda gross. But I do love this tent!

I'd like it better if it had a bathroom... but it is camping after all.
